Is it this city
That smothers me in my sleep
Or my own regret?

Clearer, colder air
I asked, and now I receive
Just not as I thought.

Confused? OK, I will clear it up…
Sit down for this one…my husband was transferred to Buffalo, NY. We’re moving soon – and I am actually excited! But I am afraid that the Buffalonians will not understand my sexy southern accent! And holy hell, all that snow! ![]()
I think I’m a change junkie…but I am READY!
cool (both literally and figuratively). and in case you are wondering, understood or not, we northerners (at least the men) love it when a girl’s got a southern accent

Buffalo’s not a bad city. It actually was a very rich city after the Civil War and before WWI with the birth of electricity. Of course, Niagra Falls has always drawn crowds.
All that snow creates a unique climate that allows the cultivation of many fruit crops. Further east around the Finger Lakes there are many wineries.
Canada is right across the way with Toronto not that far. All in all, not a bad place to live.

I think Buffalo is going to be great…we’ve met some people from my husband’s new office and they are incredibly nice, and we’re going up to visit next weekend. I can’t wait! Thanks to both of you for the encouraging words – dealing with family and friends who can’t imagine why we would even imagine moving somewhere with all that snow has been the hardest part.

I think you’ll do good with the change.

I’ll be honest — can’t believe you are going…
