Ghost

We will never fully disappear

from one another.

This impossible love

will never completely

dissipate,

will never be wholly, (holy) diminished,

will never

let go,

once

and

for all.

Your love is

a watermark

across my whole life;

a ghost image

in the picture I keep

of what love looks like;

an orb, a bright shining light

I will always be subtly drawn to,

a secret, small  smile

my children ask me about.

  1. Yessssss.

  2. You like that?! :) I think I am getting closer to saying what I want to say…

  3. I love the whole watermark image, it has a transient yet permanent aspect that encapsulates the entire relationship.

    How’s that. :)

  4. Pretty accurate and very descriptive!

    I’m glad you like it!

  5. I love that you’re still writing.

    Hmmmm

    How is that book coming along?

  6. I wrote a very difficult scene the other night. It was tough but once it was done, I could move forward.

    This poem may actually go in it – the theme of the book and the theme of this poem – well – they just WORK. The name of the book might even change to “Watermark”

    This was powerful for me today…very exciting!

  7. Very cool my dear. I’ve been writing a bit as well, but the only thing my Muse wants is spanking stories. Not bad I suppose, but I’m trying to be as literary as possible. I’ll send you some stuff if you want.

  8. Cool! You have my email right?!

    I have another site I have been using for prose and backstory… http://www.shannonwrites.wordpress.com

    Take a look if you’re bored – there are a couple of scenes and essays and whatever over there.

  9. I sent you an email, let me know if you get it.

    Have you moved yet?

  10. I got it!

    I have not moved yet – the house goes on the market Sept. 15!

    We had a lot of stuff to be done first!

  11. Offer the house as is, everything included… including the kids. :)

  12. That would free up some writing time!!

    We have 3 major tasks left, all of which my husband has to at least be here to guide, and he has been in Buffalo for 2 -3 weeks at a time. He’s home Saturday and it is GAME ON to get this crap finished!

    I am not good at living in limbo.

  13. “I am not good at living in limbo.”

    *mouth drops open*

    I never would have guessed. :P

    Have you got all your snow gear yet?

  14. LOL

    I am waiting until we get up there to get the snow gear. No one in Charlotte even has what we need for Buffalo winters!!

  15. I love the word “watermark”. It’’s fantastic. Listen this is the new blog. Bookmark it if you will. Also check out writingandpoetry.com. I sent you an email. Let me know if you want to be linked up. I’d love for you to add it here.

  16. Lovely. Always so much meaning in your writing… I am so grateful we will still have this avenue of contact when you have shuffled on off to Buffalo!!

  17. I don’t know If I said it already but …I’m so glad I found this site…Keep up the good work I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say GREAT blog. Thanks, :)

    A definite great read….

    BloggerDude – Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I’m so glad you find value in my writing and I hope you will be back on a regular basis! :)
